Car stereo isn't too complicated. Choice of equipment depends on what you listen to. If you are listening to stuff that doesn't have a lot of low bass, or not a lot of dynamic range, then you can probably get away with not having a sub. If you want to use the internal amp in your head unit, then you need speakers with high sensitivity. This may mean coaxials rather than components. some co-axs don't sound too bad, and they simplify install since you don't have to worry about mounting a separate tweeter. If you go with 6.5" speakers you can get OK bass, but if you want decent, somewhat realistic bass, you need a subwoofer+external amp. Keep in mind that the Z is a loud car, especially if you have an aftermarket exhaust. You can decrease road noise somewhat if you are willing to Dynamat your car, but this adds weight, which will decrease performance. So, if I were you I would start with the head unit and some high-quality, sensitive coaxials up front. I personally would not put in rear speakers, simply because I find that it ruins the front soundstage, but you may want to if you want more volume. If you find this fine for your needs, then that is fine. If you find that you would like a bit more bass, look into a powered subwoofer tube such as Bazooka tube. These don't take up too much space and provide decent bass.
